TAURON i Giganci Siatkówki grają razem także w 2025 roku

Nazwa TAURON Giganci Siatkówki po raz pierwszy pojawiła się w 2019 roku, podczas turnieju w Kępnie. Od tamtej pory współpraca z TAURONEM konsekwentnie się rozwija, a turniej zyskał wyjątkową rangę w siatkarskim kalendarzu.

W 2019 roku rozegrano polsko-włoski pojedynek. Barwy biało-czerwone reprezentowały Jastrzębski Węgiel i PGE Skrę Bełchatów, natomiast z Włoch przyjechały Power Volley Milano i Gas Sales Piacenza Volley. Zwycięzcami okazali się jastrzębianie. Tego samego roku w Kępnie odbył się także efektowny Mecz Gwiazd, w którym naprzeciw siebie stanęła reprezentacja Grupy TAURON i drużyna złożona z ikon polskiej siatkówki – m.in. Gardiniego, Plińskiego, Nowaka, Markiewicza czy Mazura. W tym gronie wystąpił również pomysłodawca i organizator turnieju, Wojciech Rozdolski.

Rok później, w 2020 roku, pandemia sprawiła, że impreza miała charakter krajowy. O triumf rywalizowały wyłącznie polskie zespoły: Skra Bełchatów, Jastrzębski Węgiel, Verva Warszawa Orlen Paliwa oraz Trefl Gdańsk. W emocjonującym, decydującym meczu Jastrzębski Węgiel pokonał Skrę 3:2. Towarzyszący turniejowi Mecz Gwiazd także przyciągnął uwagę kibiców – drużyna TAURON zmierzyła się ze złotą ekipą Ireneusza Mazura, czyli mistrzami świata juniorów z 1997 roku. Na parkiecie mogliśmy oglądać takie legendy jak Wlazły, Świderski, Zagumny, Winiarski czy Gruszka.

W 2021 roku współpraca między TAURONEM a turniejem weszła na nowy poziom. Energetyczny koncern został patronem projektu TAURON Młodzi Giganci Siatkówki, wspierając rozwój młodych talentów i nagradzając najlepsze zawodniczki oraz zawodników. Turniej seniorów wygrał ponownie Jastrzębski Węgiel.

Rok 2022 to nowa era w historii turnieju, który przeniósł się do Twardogóry. Po raz pierwszy rozegrano także rywalizację kobiet. Oczywiście organizatorzy – jak zawsze - mogli liczyć na wsparcie firmy TAURON, partnera tytularnego „Gigantów Siatkówki”. Energetyczny potentat, który jest jednym z największych mecenasów polskiego sportu, zaangażował się także w turnieje „gigantek”. W tym roku mamy czwartą edycję zawodów pań i chociaż lista zwyciężczyń jest krótka, to jednak bardzo prestiżowa: Chemik Police (2022), Eczacibasi Stambuł (2023), Developres Rzeszów (2024). Kto wygra w tym roku?

U panów pucharu zdobytego przed rokiem broni Aluron CMC Warta Zawiecie, nowa siła w polskiej siatkówki. Tym razem do Twardogóry przyjedzie jako finalista ostatniej edycji Ligi Mistrzów. Pół-żartem, pół-serio można powiedzieć, że droga do tego sukcesu zaczęła się na turnieju organizowany pod skrzydłami firmy TAURON.

The name TAURON Giganci Siatkówki first appeared in 2019 during the tournament in Kępno. Since then, the cooperation with TAURON has been steadily developing, and the tournament has gained a prestigious place in the volleyball calendar.

In 2019, a Polish-Italian clash was played. Representing the white-and-red colors were Jastrzębski Węgiel and PGE Skra Bełchatów, while from Italy came Power Volley Milano and Gas Sales Piacenza Volley. Jastrzębski Węgiel emerged as the winners. That same year, an impressive All-Star Match was held in Kępno, where a TAURON team faced off against a squad made up of Polish volleyball icons – including Gardini, Pliński, Nowak, Markiewicz, and Mazur. Among the players was also the originator and organizer of the tournament, Wojciech Rozdolski.

The following year, in 2020, the pandemic meant that the event had a national character. Only Polish teams competed for the trophy: Skra Bełchatów, Jastrzębski Węgiel, Verva Warszawa Orlen Paliwa, and Trefl Gdańsk. In an exciting decisive match, Jastrzębski Węgiel defeated Skra 3:2. The accompanying All-Star Match also attracted great attention – the TAURON team played against Ireneusz Mazur’s golden squad, the 1997 junior world champions. Fans could once again see such legends as Wlazły, Świderski, Zagumny, Winiarski, and Gruszka on the court.

In 2021, the cooperation between TAURON and the tournament reached a new level. The energy company became the patron of the TAURON Młodzi Giganci Siatkówki project, supporting the development of young talents and rewarding the best female and male players. The senior tournament was once again won by Jastrzębski Węgiel.

The year 2022 marked a new era in the history of the tournament, which moved to Twardogóra. For the first time, a women’s competition was also played. As always, the organizers could count on the support of TAURON, the title partner of Giganci Siatkówki. The energy giant, one of the biggest patrons of Polish sport, also became involved in the women’s tournaments – the so-called “gigantki.” This year marks the fourth edition of the women’s competition, and although the list of winners is short, it is highly prestigious: Chemik Police (2022), Eczacibasi Istanbul (2023), Developres Rzeszów (2024). Who will win this year?

On the men’s side, last year’s trophy holder is Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, a new force in Polish volleyball. This time, the team comes to Twardogóra as the finalist of the most recent Champions League edition. Half-jokingly, one could say that their road to this success began at the tournament organized under the wings of TAURON.

“TAURON is the ideal partner for our event. I am glad that we have been working together for several years already, and I sincerely hope that we will continue to create this unique event together in the coming editions,” says Wojciech Rozdolski, the originator and organizer of the tournament.

For several years, the TAURON Group has played a key role as a sponsor of volleyball in Poland, supporting both women’s and men’s competitions. It supports both professional athletes and amateurs.
